InSitu/City - Ulysses Network Project

InSitu/City TIMELINE LISTING

Back to the Timeline

Europe’s singularity is characterized by a rich diversity of artistic situations and sociological contexts. The ULYSSES Network aims to exploit this singularity to the fullest. In this spirit, it is the goal of the ULYSSES partner institutions to propose and construct a variety of opportunities that target particular needs and offer unique work conditions to young artists.
Composers, performers, conductors and ensembles will all be able to undertake projects providing them with rich and diverse experiences enabling them to develop new relations to their social context, to their fellow artists and to diverse audiences.

Our great Insitu/Sofia project is completed! After several Zoom Meetings with the three artists in Sofia Elena Dimitrova (scenography), Lidia Stanulova (game design), Alexandra Zlatanova (painting) IEMA-Ensemble 2020/21 was finally ready to go to Sofia! The ULYSSES network's Insitu/City program aims to place young artists at the center of various European social contexts and to establish closer relationships with European citizens. The city - with all that it means from a historical, cultural, political and social point of view - is the starting point for all projects. Our interdisciplinary project was finalized and performed from 26 to 29.7.21 in Sofia/Bulgaria in collaboration with and during the festival "180° laboratory for innovative art" https://180-degrees.org/. Thereby the IEMA ensemble 2020/21 worked in three different groups with three different performances in the end: Location | Performance, ca. 15 min. Elena Dimitrova / Flora Marlene Geißelbrecht, Moritz Koch, Veronika Paleeva, Felix Schauren The musical walk started outside and was performed in the area of Goethe-Institut Sofia, using "items of the city".   Medium | Performance, ca. 15 min. Alexandra Zlatanova / Claire Colombo, Jaume Darbra Fa, Zacharias Faßhauer, Kathrin Isabelle Klein, Lukas Nowok The painter Alexandra Zlatanova created about 20 different paintings which where ditigalized and projected via Video Mapping while among others pre-recorded Kassandra poems were transformed into spatial sound.   Interaction | Performance, ca. 15 min. Lidia Stanulova / Riccardo Acciarino, Lucie Chollet, Antonio La Spina, Jae A. Shin, Yiyang Zhao The audience could interact with the individual musicians and control musical actions.
