The ULYSSES network supports several emerging European ensembles, programming concerts where a new repertoire is promoted, thanks to commissions and reruns. NEKO3 is a Copenhagen-based contemporary music ensemble that pushes the boundaries of music, art, and performance through their innovative approach to sound, visuals and technology. With pianist Fei Nie, and percussionists Lorenzo Colombo and Kalle Hakosalo, the ensemble creates a unique experience for the audience by commissioning and premiering new works that incorporate elements of electronic and acoustic music, visual art and installations.

The IEMA Ensemble 2023/24 of the International Ensemble Modern Academy and NEKO3 give a joint concert. ›Transitions‹ and connections can be experienced here at different levels. NEKO3 presents a new work by Alexander Schubert, jointly developed in a lengthy process. Different genres are consciously interwoven in one network: the Danish ensemble appears as a »rock band«, playing hybrid instruments, singing with vocoder, and combining different musical styles such as Noise, Electronic, Beat, Emo, Drone, Trap and experimental music. During the first half of the concert, the IEMA Ensemble presents the work ›Übergang II‹ by Yann Robin as well as a world premiere by Sunghyun Lee. Another world premiere by Po-Chien Liu finallybrings the musicians of both ensembles together.

On 22 February 2024, NEKO3 performs at cresc… Biennale for Contemporary Music in Frankfurt Rhein Main. The programme includes:
