Each year, Festival Mixtur invites young performers to a workshop in which they work with internationally renowned musicians on the interpretation of contemporary repertoire. The workshop is organised in collaboration with the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, and is aimed at students as well as professional performers, with no age or nationality limit. Participation in the workshop includes indvidual classes, master classes and lectures, free access to the festival activities and a performance during Festival Mixtur with pieces worked during the workshop, which might include reference pieces of the contemporary repertoire as well as miniatures written by the Composition Workshop students.

In 2022, the workshop is led by Trio Accanto (Christian Dierstein (percussion) Nicolas Hodges (piano) Marcus Weiss (saxophone), and is directed at percussionists, pianists and saxophonists. Young  saxophonists Alberto Cavallaro and Melissa Uhr take part in the workshop as part of their ULYSSES Journey.
