The ULYSSES network supports several emerging European ensembles, programming concerts where a new repertoire is promoted, thanks to commissions and reruns.
Shortlisted for the 2024 Royal Philharmonic Society Ensemble Award, London-based Riot Ensemble connects audiences to contemporary music through innovative concerts and events. The members of Riot work as performers, curators, commissioners, and collaborators, creating and producing diverse projects. Since 2012, they’ve premiered 250+ works by composers from 35+ countries. Riot usually looks for long-term, lasting impact collaborations, and performs internationally regularly. Their extensive discography includes acclaimed releases like “Speak Be Silent” and “Vestige.” Supported by various foundations, Riot continues to push boundaries in music.
Their concert (see programme below), titled Fast Darkness after one of the pieces of their program, will include two pieces by a teacher at our composition workshops (Chaya Czernowin) and the premiere of two miniatures composed by participants in the composition workshops (Rafael Godoi and Hao Ma)
