Students from two primary schools in the province of Barcelonawill create two musical works, inspired and accompanied by Pablo Carrascosa and Jordi Pallarès.

Each year, Festival Mixtur invites primary school students and teachers to approach contemporary music through creations, improvisation, interaction with professional composers and performers, and participation in festival activities such as open rehearsals and concerts. This is done in partnership with with guest artists and educators and different pedagogical centres from Barcelona.

For Replay (II) at Mixtur 2023,  de Serralavella school (in Ullastrell) and La Roda school (in Terrassa) will work in the classroom with composer Pablo Carrascosa and improviser Jordi Pallarès. The schoolchildren will take part in a musical creation process, accompanied by these tutors, based on their own artistic work. The goal is for the students to use their own resources to create a new piece whose colour and character determine the final form.

The result of this creative process will be shown as part of the Festival Mixtur 2023 programme.
