In September 2023, the biennial akademie kontemporär once again offers outstanding young composers and instrumentalists the opportunity to be individually supported and networked in the context of contemporary music. This year, it will highlight the aspect of “the lie”.

From September 25 to October 1, members of the ascolta ensemble (ensemble in residence) will be present in Hamburg to work on a musical programme in intensive rehearsals with the participants. The final concert will take place on September 30 in the Forum of the Hochschole für Musik und Theater. The visiting composer in Malika Kishino, who is conducting a master course for composers.

The akademie kontemporär 2023 is supported by the ULYSSES Network and the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius.

Performers Anna Grenzer (cello) and Mari-Tirkkonen (horn) have been selected to take part in the akademie kontemporär as part of their ULYSSES Journeys.
