During the annual Gaudeamus Festival, composers are invited for a residency period which includes an Academy week during which composers and musicians get together to work on sketches for new compositions and have meetings and discussions with elder composers, and the immediately following period of the festival at which their works are programmed.

This year there are two composer journeys:  Jinwook Jung and Eneko Lacalle are invited to work with annually changing ensembles-in-residence. Jinwook Jung is developing a new work with HIIIT (formerly known as Percussion The Hague), while Eneko Lacalle will develop a new work with Gaudeamus’ 2024 focus ensemble Trio Catch.
