IWYC – International Workshop for Young Composers 2025

Period: 26 July – 3 August 2025
Residency in Sofia (Bulgaria)

Composers are invited to write an original piece for ensemble or solo instrument. During the residency in Sofia, they will have the opportunity to interact with the musicians of Divertimento Ensemble, its conductor and tutors Peter Kerkelov, Mauro Lanza and Fabien Lévy.

The composers will also take part in individual lessons, in masterclasses held by tutors and in rehearsals of their own pieces and those of the other composers. At the end of the workshop, all new pieces will be performed by the Divertimento Ensemble.

A composition for ensemble and one for solo instrument will be selected for a performance in the Milanese season of Divertimento Ensemble, Rondò 2026.

Two composers will be selected shortly to take part in IWYC 2025 as part of their ULYSSES Journeys.
