With Xavier Pagès-Corella (composer)

Festival Mixtur invites students and teachers from different primary schools to get involved with the festival each year. The general objective of “Mixtur at primary school” is to introduce contemporary music to children and music teachers at the Primary Education stage.

In this activity, students will participate in an experience of collective creation of contemporary music. The students of the school La Sínia, in Cerdanyola del Vallès, will start from a work by the composer Xavier Pagès-Corella and, with the help of their teachers and the composer himself, will create their own pieces. The process begins with an audition and musical analysis of one of Pagès-Corella’s works that will open the door to contemporary music for students. The work sessions with the composer and the class groups will serve to debate and improve the students’ creations. Finally, the children will perform their pieces as part of the Mixtur Festival.
