New Works – ULYSSES Composers
06/2019 Ircam – FR
In 2018, Simone Corti and Gerardo Gozzi took part in the ULYSSES Journeys and one of their stops allowed them to participate to a composition workshop at the ManiFeste-2018 academy at IRCAM in Paris, for conducted ensemble and chamber music.
With this workshop, IRCAM wanted a large number of young composers to take advantage of the exceptional environment offered by the ManiFeste academy during the month of June (internationally renowned composers, exceptional musicians, researchers specialized in musical fields, etc.).
The young composers got offered individual and group classes, took part in encounters, discussions, and started to work on compositional sketches with the teaching composer and the musicians from the Ensemble intercontemporain.
12 of these composers are now selected to return to the academy in 2019 with their completed piece that are rehearsed and performed by the Ensemble intercontemporain in a public concert at Centquatre in Paris.
The two ULYSESSES Composers Simone Corti and Gerardo Gozzi are among the few selected young composers who where invited, following the workshop, to complete their score in order to have it rehearsed and performed in the ManiFeste-2019 academy:
