Renowned composer and interdisciplinary artist Pierre Jodlowski, whose artistic work is diverse as much as it is concise, impressive and exciting, is tutoring at impuls. His music, often marked by a high density, is at the crossroads of acoustic and electric sound and is characterized by dramatic and political anchor. Christian Dierstein in turn has established himself among the most interesting performers in the contemporary music of our time, not only as the percussionist of ensemble recherche and Trio Accanto, but also as a solo performer.
At the impuls Academy 2025 they will work together for the first time on a Special Program, bringing composers and percussionists together for the development of collaborative projects, with daily working phases leading to a final presentation at the impuls Festival 2025. The projects can be conceived for solo, duo, trio or flexible groups of performers and must include an interdisciplinary approach (electronic sounds, video, gestures and theatrical approach). Classical percussion instruments are not the one element to play a central role, but also objects, body, surfaces and video and electroacoustic elements.
ULYSSES-supported artists Seonyeon Kong and Antonio Aggiano take part in this In-Situ activity of the ULYSSES Platform.
Dates of Special Program: 18 – 28 February, 2025
Date and venue of final presentation: 28 February 2025, MUMUTH, Proberaum, Lichtenfelsgasse 14, Graz
